Randall Park
Capping off our incredible run of programming at The Wallis, which has included Michael Keaton and Paula Pell in a stage reading of My Dinner with Andre, Ian McShane and Timothy Olyphant examining their characters in “Deadwood,” and a surprise musical performance from Childish Gambino, Film Independent is proud to welcome guest director Randall Park for a special Live Read. Park has long proven a deftness for subtle and often dry comedic sensibilities. Always the unexpected scene stealer (Asian Jim Halpert anyone?), he has created many memorable characters over the course of his career, most recently as Louis Huang on ABC’s hit sitcom “Fresh off the Boat” and his hilariously authentic performance as Marcus Kim in Always Be My Maybe. Co-writing the film with Ali Wong and Michael Golamco, Park got to showcase the signature droll humor that we can expect at The Wallis on June 23.
