Synopsis:

“On the planet Earth, humans had always assumed that they were more intelligent than dolphins because they had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than humans —for precisely the same reasons.” -Douglas Adams

Douglas Adams wrote the much loved, absurdist and subversive satire, The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy as a radio play in 1978. With its’ sharp wit and ironic style it quickly became a world -wide cult classic. This vibrant, fast paced, gender-bending production of HHGG by The Wallis Studio Ensemble, integrates puppetry, stylized movement, miniature sets and live music to bring to life Douglas Adams’ timely political satire. After the earth is completely destroyed to make way for an intergalactic bypass; we follow ‘Martha’ Dent (the last human) and Ford Prefect (an intergalactic traveler) on a hysterical journey through unsuspecting parts of the galaxy in the hopes of discovering the meaning of life, the universe and everything.
